Ask Yourself If You're Serious About Self Love
Entering a relationship with yourself is one of the hardest relationships you'll ever be in. Just like any relationship it takes time, patience, effort and affection. However, there is no greater reward than finding comfort in your own skin. Life becomes clearer, not easier. It is an unfolding process, exposing and vulnerable. It's about acceptance that you are enough. It's about facing the decisions that you have made and will make each day. It is about being comfortable to celebrate the good. Showing accountablity for the decisions that may not have been so great. It's about being open to learning from each decision, embracing each as your own. It's removing the blame and responsibility you may have put on others to produce your happiness. It is about creating your own.
The self love journey is like an onion, each layer you peel away will reveal new truths. They may even make you cry a little. However, they will shape you. Condition a stronger state of mind. They will ground you. Those moments of discomfort will reveal the things that matter to you. You will create your own personal set of values. In the process you will become empowered by who you are. You have always been this person but now your ready to listen to yourself, determine your own policy for life. You may feel disconnected to the relationships you have, the job you work, the activities you participate in. This is because the deeper you discover, your energy and vibe you radiate will change its frequency. Throwing off the balance you once had. However, just another step in the process. Hang in there, a new chapter is being written. One where you get to be the hero, champion, king or queen!
Self love comes in time. It takes practice. It takes consistency. It starts with asking yourself some tough questions. Ask them, see how you feel! If you feel a little unsettled by the responses, I bet your ready. It's about letting go. It's about moving forward daily.
