My proudest accomplishments so far have been that I decided to give it that 100% commitment.
What are/were your health goals?
•to lose weight (mostly baby weight from 2 children in the last 4years)
•to feel self-motivated again
•to feel energized
•gain personal and physical strength
•to live a healthy life style but know that it’s okay to have those off days (everything in moderation)
•gaining knowledge about what good and not so good foods
What has fitness done for your well being?
About 15 years ago, I had my first big transformation where I was 210 pounds at the age of 22 and decided to make a life style change for myself and well being . I said, if I’m going to do this I need to commit and low that there will be results at the end of this journey and because I wanted to make the change not just cause I needed too. Within 4 months, I joined a gym, did get a personal trainer and changed my daily eating/diet by than losing 60 pounds and keeping it off after learning and adapting to my new self and lifestyle. The difference I felt was huge and my self esteem and self confidence sky rocketed. I had never felt better and was happy that I not only accomplished this but stuck with it and continued to stick with that. Fast forward to 2014 when I became pregnant with my first child and clearly a lot older than before. From the time i had my first child to than having my second At the beginning of 2018, I had basically gotten back to where I used to be but I guess I’m some ways it didn’t look at bad as it was in my teens but it was definitely there and a huge problem for me. If I’m being honest, I didn’t like myself at all no matter how many times my husband, friends or family members said I looked great, etc. I didnt feel great and I sure didn’t feel that way looking into the mirror everyday. I knew I wanted to feel how I felt back in my early twenties when I made that big change but I wasn’t naive to know that i wouldn’t be exactly the same, as my body had changed from 2 kids and o was older. But I knew that I could make changes and that the feeling I had than I could find again if I committed and stuck with it. I did before so I knew I could donut again. And that’s when I decided to make that change when I decided to really go full throttle at MK fitness.
What is your proudest accomplishment so far in your Personal Fitness story?
My proudest accomplishments so far have been that I decided to give it that 100% commitment. I knew if I couldn’t commit to 30mins of a daily workout on top of everything else going on in my life, than I wasn’t taking this seriously and would end up still sad, angry and disappointed in myself and my life choices. But it wasn’t just the exercise, I knew I had to make those changes in my eating habits as well. Even though I’ve beem with MK fitness since April of 2018, I feel i really made more of a commitment in August 2018 when i started attending my workout sessions 5 times a week which i have kept up with until now. I have adapted to a new eating schedule with the occasional little cheats but overall, have stayed away from my enemies in the food world not matter how tempting it got. When I stnd on a scale, I have lost weight, although I feel like it should be more but also understand that by losing body fat, I gain muscle so usually the scale isn’t always the greatest device to use. But I know I’m how I look at myself in the mirror and how I feel I’m my clothes which most have now become loose, that the changes have happened and are still continuing to happen. And with that, this makes me happy and I feel a sense of accomplishment and joy in myself.
If there was one thing you would tell someone thinking about starting their Transformation Story, what advice would you give them?
After the experiences I have gone through from my original fitness journey to now, I feel I am an example because I had those results and clearly know there’s proof that these changes can happen. With that said, what I told my 22 year old, 210 pound self than is what I still say to myself and to others now. It’s YOU who has to want to make the change but you have to be committed and trust yourself and the journey. The results are there at the end but YOU and only YOU can get to the finish line. Yes, others can help guide and motivate you through out but that’s just the icing on the cake. It all comes down to number one and that’s YOU! Everyone deserves to feel good about themselves and feel confident no matter what. You have to take the chance and with all that you risk, comes great rewards and a new understanding about Yourself and how you want to live the rest of your life
